This Saturday night, Mulgoa's Under 8 team will play in a curtain raiser for the A League Final between Sydney FC and The Wellington Pheonix. The game is of great interest to our Club as former Mulgoa Swan Reece Crowther (Son of Ed and Julie) is one of the Wellington goal keepers.

Welcome to the New MVFC Website..... PDF Print E-mail
Hi and Welcome to the new MVFC website for 2010.

You will notice that at the moment it is sort of an empty shell just waiting for all of the Seasons information and goings on . This year the Committee has decided to make the Website the "Go To" place for information whether that be upcoming events or ground closures on game day. The Website is designed to provide all of the relevent information and make it available to everybody as they need it.

You may also notice that there is room for match reports and a photo gallery so that the kids can read about their games and see photo's of game days.

If you would like to see anything on the Website or you have any questions at all for the committee or coaches please drop us an email at

Mulgoa Valley FC celebrates 25 Years PDF Print E-mail
Mulgoa Soccer Club as it was formally known was started in 1985. Our founding committee was Barry Bonē (President), Chris Murray (Secretary), Helen Bonē (Treasurer), Kevin Murray (Equipment Officer) and Don (Competition Secretary). At the start of the 1986 season Mulgoa soccer club fielded 3 junior teams playing from our home ground at Gow Park on Littlefields road which was kindly left to Mulgoa Sports Association by local resident Mrs Margaret Gow.

25 years on we are still a small club fielding only 12 teams in the 2009 season but that has not stopped us from making an impact in the Nepean district and beyond. Take the 2009 season for instance, of our 5 competition teams the AA Ladies and the under 10’s won their division and 3 of the 5 competition teams made their respective finals.

As a club one of our proudest moments was to see Reece Crowther run on for Wellington Phoenix against Sydney F.C. in this year’s A-league season. Moving to the U.K. at 17 the young goalkeeper served his early apprenticeship at Queens Park Rangers in the Coca Cola Championship. After a couple of tough seasons Reece caught the eye of the Phoenix coaching staff who signed him for the 2009/2010 season. With 5 first team appearances under his belt this year Reece has impressed enough to get an extension on his contract.

Reece’s proud parents Ed and Julie Crowther have long been the backbone of our club and along with Judy Sedwell as a committee they have steered the club through tough times. Ed and Julie have both played for the club. Ed still coaches his AA side who a while back went 5 ½ years unbeaten at Gow Park and reached the semi final of Champion of Champions.

As you can see not such a small club after all, with new committee members coming on board in the last year all the hard work that has been done by Ed, Julie and Judy to keep this club going will hopefully start to bear fruit.  For example we are lucky enough to have Allan Rowan come on board with us this year as our website manager. Our plan this year is to funnel all match reviews, fixtures and information through our website (linked with Nepean’s website) enabling anyone to see our clubs progress through the season.  Chris Carney our Vice President has been hard at work along with Lisa Blackhurst ( fundraising manager ) drumming up local support to deliver on our plans of a  watering system for our pitches and a new BBQ area and new kitchen for the canteen

As part of our celebrations this season all players will wear a 25th anniversary logo on their jerseys and we will be inviting past players and officials to our presentation day to join in the festivities at the end of the season.  It is going to be a big season for Mulgoa Valley F.C. in more ways than one and remember big is not always best.
